KOL ISHA (A Woman's Voice), from Metuchen, NJ-based singer-songwriter Sharon Goldman, is a bold, original song journey merging Jewish imagery, myth, melodies and memories with a modern, feminist perspective. It blends folk, pop and blues sounds with traditional melodies, middle-eastern rhythms, Hebrew refrains and biblical texts.

Sharon digs deep into memories of prayers and rituals; of roads not taken; and of voices not heard. She also mines the stories of biblical and mythical women for creative inspiration, including Lilith, Lot's Wife, The Sabbath Queen and the lovers in the Song of Songs.

"A beautiful album...Sharon has truly found her voice." — John Platt, WFUV

"Brilliant — one of my Top 10 for 2016." — Ron Olescko, WFDU-NJ

"'Pearls' of songs" — Basya Schechter, NYC's Romemu and the band Pharaoh's Daughter

"A remarkable song cycle...a special collection." — Mike Regenstreif, Ottawa Jewish Bulletin

"Goldman offers both defiance and longing as she examines her past. She caresses the memory of a ritual and recasts it in a modern light, revealing why she cast it aside, but the ancient language tumbles out from somewhere deep in her soul." — New Jersey Jewish Journal
